What is MASSAGE THERAPY?

Massage therapy is a systematic manual application of pressure and movement to the soft tissue and joints of the body. The soft tissues include muscle, skin, tendons and associated fascia, ligaments and joint capsules.

Massage has many diverse physiological effects, which are primarily due to the therapist's hands moving over the body. The different movements can physically stretch muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia; encourage the circulation through the tissue; inhibit muscular spasms and can be stimulating to the nervous system.  Conditions alleviated by massage are low/upper back and neck pain, headaches, migraines, strains, sprains and other injuries.

Just like a mechanic has many different tools, there are different types of massage therapies that promote your overall well- being. Many modern styles of massage use techniques aimed at addressing very specific ailments or conditions.

What is MYOFASCIAL RELEASE?

The focus of the work is to release restrictions within the fascia, or
connective tissue, which envelops the muscles, bones, ligaments, and organs. Rather than focusing on specific muscles and their origins and insertions. MFR requires no oil and is very slow. The actual strokes are quite different because you are molding into the tissue to grab and move fascia, rather than working only muscle.

What is SPORTS MASSAGE?

It prevents muscle and tendon injuries.
It reduces the strain and discomfort of training and chronic strain patterns. allowing a quicker return to maximum training levels. It enables the athlete to recover more quickly from myofascial injury with less chance of chronic problems returning.  It enhances a preventive approach to athletic training whereby soft tissues are free of trigger points and adhesions, thus contributing toward the improvement of peak neuromuscular functioning.

Preventative massage stimulates circulation, calms nervous tension, and prepares the athlete for optimal performance while reducing the chances of injury.

Preventative massage relieves soreness and assists in the removal of lactic acid and other waste products.

Training massage focuses on the prevention of developing chronic injuries and aids in the healing process of current ones.

What is DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE?

This deep form of bodywork helps to release myofascial restrictions in the body. It relives chronic tension, increases range of motion, improves posture and enhances self-awareness.

What is ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUES (ART)?

ART is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

What is REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is a focused pressure technique, usually directed at the feet or hands. It is based on the premise that there are zones and reflexes on different parts of the body, which corresponds to and are relative to all parts, glands and organs of the entire body.
